Good news to all Rentec Direct landlord software users. Rentec Direct has recently added a new report to the landlord software system, the 1099 Assistant. This feature was designed to assist landlords and property managers to easily compile all necessary information to provide 1099’s to IRS, vendors and owners.
The said feature can be found under the landlord software Reports tab labeled 1099 Assistant.
To use the 1099 Report, simply enter your expenses and distributions as normal into the landlord software system. Any time after January 1st, visit Reports Tab and choose ‘Last Year’ for a date range, then click on the 1099 Assistant report. All your expenses will be summarized with the necessary information to fill out your 1099s quickly and readily at your fingertips.
Moreover, to take full advantage of the 1099 Report, be sure to visit Settings. Then click on the Setup Vendors and have all your vendors defined in the new landlord software system with complete address and tax ID information.
Same for any owners you provide distributions to. If the system is unable to match a qualified expense to a vendor or owner, the new landlord software system will provide an option to link that payee to an owner or vendor for your convenience.
Along with the new report, Rentec Direct have also improved the auto-suggest feature when posting or editing expenses. While the feature is reliable in Firefox, Chrome and other browsers with excellent JavaScript support, Rentec Direct have updated the new landlord software report to work better for IE now as well. IE users will notice the auto-suggest and auto-populate of address fields work much smother now.
