There are a variety of jobs available in the country of Kuwait. Most of these jobs are provided to contractors and oil oriented professions. The demand for builders and engineers are also extremely high due to the type of exports that the country provides. Those with military and science background, especially petroleum engineering, will find lucrative careers in maintaining, protecting and defending oil mines from resistance and those who wish to extort the region for its energy benefits.

Jobs in Kuwait are quite common for Americans due to the previous American occupation and subsequent liberation of the country during the Gulf War. Ever since the United States has remained a powerful presence and ally in the region. Defense contractors work closely with sanctioned military corporations that operate from the United States. Such example of the contractors is the Blackwater Corporation which operated heavily in the invasion of Iraq and the occupation that followed may mirror jobs in Kuwait.

Engineers are highly sought to maintain the facilities, and are not often used by defense contractors. These individuals are usually hired by the oil corporations such as Shell and Exxon to survey the area and maintain quality and safety control in the methods used abroad. Regardless, there is a need to fill these job vacancies in Kuwait, and there are companies willing to pay top dollar in order to secure useful assets in the region.

While these positions are able to command a high salary rate, the retention of services is considered quite low due to the high stress level that the job requires. A common method that contractors employ is by the month contracting in which an employee may opt out of service, but retain the pay for work done, if they have worked up to a certain point. This is also a reason for the job vacancies in Kuwait.

Military personal and contractors may take less of a combat role and one more oriented towards personal security or as guards to those who may been seen as targets in the region. Those who experience mental instability can be released from their contract, but may or may not receive severance depending on the nature of the company policy.

Jobs in Kuwait are limited, but pay extremely well. There are a multitude of websites that promote job vacancies in Kuwait and can even find home vacancies in Kuwait. More jobs in Kuwait include statisticians, and other analyst.
