The lymph vessel, which is located all throughout your body, can sometimes be congested with substances that are caused by cellular metabolism. When this happens, the lymph slows down its activity and fatty substances and waste deposits get stored in your system longer than what's considered normal.

Not a disease in itself, swollen lymph nodes with a headache is typically a warning of a more serious condition. Swollen lymph nodes are what most of us call swollen glands and when accompanied by a headache can signify the beginnings of serious illness such as tonsillitis, West Nile virus, chronic fatigue syndrome.

Biopsy means that a part of your node is removed surgically and then studied in the laboratory. In most cases biopsy for lymphoma can be done under local anesthetic. After that pathologist will examine your tissue sample in the laboratory to see if your cells have been affected by cancer. If that is the case he will identify the exact type of lymphoma you are suffering from.

The lymphatic system is an important part of the immune system plays a key role in the body's natural defenses against infection and cancer. The lymphatic fluid is a white liquid like milk protein, fat, and lymphocytes (white blood cells) that all flow throughout the body via the lymphatic vessels.

Tonsillectomy not only can lead to various health problems later but also does not come at a cheaper price. The surgery can also hinder day to day activities for some time. Hence, it is avoided most often. In fact, there are natural and scientifically proven ways to get rid of tonsil stones so they never return. It's absolutely not necessary to go for a long, drawn out surgery or wasting your money on expensive nasal sprays and tablets.

Fever, sore throat, white discoloration of the tonsils (exudate), swollen lymph nodes, especially in the neck and armpit, general discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling, drowsiness, loss of appetite, muscle aches or stiffness, swollen spleen, rash.

A small fraction of West Nile sufferers go on to suffer from the brain diseases West Nile meningitis and West Nile encephalitis. The statistics show that only around 1 in 150 WNV infections progress to the potentially fatal neuroinvasive strains. Sufferers of West Nile Fever have, in very rare cases been known to progress to West Nile meningitis or encephalitis.

The first signs of the illness usually include itching or burning on one side of the body, which normally occurs before the appearance of the typical rash. Once the rash is visible on the skin, it may form small blisters that eventually burst and scab over. The rash is usually confined to the midsection of the body, although it can be found on the face and neck, as well.

Aside from the lower legs and face, cellulitis can develop in the arm and neck area. The abdomen and chest can also be affected. Special types of cellulitis can develop and they are designated by the location of the infected area. Thus, there is periorbital cellulitis (around the eye socket), buccal cellulitis (cheek), facial cellulitis and perianal cellulitis.

Symptoms of HSV can occur 2-10 days after exposure. Genital herpes symptoms include, fever, swollen lymph nodes of the groin and neck, small red and painful bumps that usually turn into open lesions (or blisters). Where ever the outbreak occurs is usually where the virus was contracted. These lesions and bumps can appear not only on the genital area of men and women, but also on the anal opening, inner thighs and buttocks.

The lymphatic system is a complex network of conduits and nodes that carry a fluid called lymph. Lymph is a clear to yellowish watery fluid which formed in between cells of the body. This watery fluid travels in the lymph channels, through various lymph glands and eventually drains into the bloodstream. It is formed when interstitial fluid (the fluid that bathes cells and tissues) enters the conduits of the lymphatic system. The interstitial fluid is in turn formed because of filtration of blood.
